Sky
Haus is located in the exclusive Cascade Highlands in the heart of Mountain
Village, Big Sky, Montana. Conveniently located 45 miles south of Bozeman,
and 50 miles north of the West Entrance to the famous Yellowstone National
Park, Sky Haus is in a Rocky Mountain sweet spot.
Service to the Bozeman airport is provided by three major airlines (Delta,
United and Northwest) and two regional airlines (Alaska/Horizon and Skywest).
A number of car rental agencies are available (Alamo, Budget, Enterprise,
Hertz, and National) and we suggest that 4 wheel drive is required in
the winter time. Additional shuttle options make transportation to Big
Sky easy.
Call our Concierge Alpine Property Management (406-995-7211, cell
406-570-7316) for discount rates on car rentals, and shuttle info.

From the Bozeman Airport (BZN) located in Belgrade, there is only one
exit. From that exit, turn right onto the Frontage Road towards Belgrade.
Proceed 1.4 miles to the second stop sign, which is Jackrabbit Lane (aka
291, aka 85), turn left. This road eventually becomes Highway 191. Continue
on Hwy 191 South about 45 miles through the drop dead gorgeous Gallatin
Canyon to the 4-way stoplights at Lone Mountain Trail (aka Big Sky Spur
Road, aka 64). Turn right towards Big Sky and travel about 11 miles to
Beehive Basin Road (2 miles past Big Sky Resort, just before Moonlight
Basin). Turn right and go 2 blocks to Middle Rider Road and take a right
(see Satellite Detail Maps at left). Sky Haus is halfway down the road
on the left at 19 Middle Rider Road. This takes about 1 hour from the
airport. Enjoy!
We live in Chanhassen/Excelsior area of Minnesota (SW suburbs of Minneapolis)
and drive to Sky Haus. It takes us 15 hours (of course longer in bad weather),
including bathroom breaks and a few food breaks. We drive straight through,
leaving between 5 and 6am, stop in Bozeman for groceries, and continue
up to Big Sky. A selection of "lateral thinking" puzzle books
as well as books on tape keep us entertained.
From Minneapolis area: Take 94 West through North Dakota into Montana.
At about Billings, it changes to I 90. Continue west on that until you
get to Belgrade, MT. (This is past Livingston, just past Bozeman) then
go 85 south (aka Jackrabbit Road) which becomes Highway 191 South. Continue
on Hwy 191 South about 45 miles through the drop dead gorgeous Gallatin
Canyon to the 4-way stoplights at Lone Mountain Trail (aka Big Sky Spur
Road, aka 64). Turn right towards Big Sky and travel about 11 miles to
Beehive Basin Road (2 miles past Big Sky Resort, just before Moonlight
Basin). Turn right and go 2 blocks to Middle Rider Road and take a right
(see Satellite Detail Maps at left). Sky Haus is halfway down the road
on the left at 19 Middle Rider Road.
To stop by the Bozeman Coop and proceed to Sky Haus:
Off of I 90, take the Main Street exit in Bozeman. Follow that until you
get to the Community Food Coop, 908 W. Main Street (it will be on your
left 406-587-4039). Once you're done, get back onto Main Street
and take a left (head west), it becomes 191. Continue west to the intersection
of 84 and 191 south (this intersection is called "4 Corners").
Take a left onto Highway 191 south for about 45 miles through the drop
dead gorgeous Gallatin Canyon to the 4-way stoplights at Lone Mountain
Trail (aka Big Sky Spur Road, aka 64). Turn right towards Big Sky and
travel about 11 miles to Beehive Basin Road (2 miles past Big Sky Resort,
just before Moonlight Basin). Turn right and go 2 blocks to Middle Rider
Road and take a right (see Satellite Detail Maps at left). Sky Haus is
halfway down the road on the left at 19 Middle Rider Road.
